How to apply

Creating an application

We do not have deadlines for receiving applications; we deal with them as they come in. Every application is reviewed by our Trustees and a decision communicated within three to six months.

We encourage potential applicants to talk to us before making an application to find out, before spending time on it, whether it meets our charitable aims.

Here's what to do:

  • Check your project is eligible by reading what we fund including What we like to fund and What we don’t normally fund
  • Read our Grants Terms and Conditions (see downloads)
  • Have a look at the Application Form by downloading the pdf version (see downloads). Your real application must be done online but by downloading a copy of the form, you’ll be able to see the sort of information required so that you can have it ready
  • Our guide to Acknowledging and Publicising your Grant will help you do just that, should you get a grant. But you might want to read it now so that you can describe some of your Communications plans in your application
  • Make sure you have between one and three really good photographs to upload. We’ll use these to publicise your grant on our website and elsewhere so we’re looking for photographs that are visually striking and show the special character of your organisation. We’d much rather have a beautiful photo of your church than a photo of the kitchen, even if it’s the kitchen that needs the funding! Have a look at the photos here
  • Complete the online application form. You don’t have to complete it all in one go. You can save it and come back to it later.
