What we support
Allchurches Trust Limited (ATL) supports the mission and work of the Christian church and charitable projects that have a Christian foundation. We like to assist in areas of greatest need. We especially favour projects that show vision, illustrate enthusiastic support and demonstrate financial sustainability.
Churches seeking funding should be members of Churches Together in England (CTE), Action of Churches Together in Scotland (ACTS), Churches Together in Wales (Cytun) or the Irish Council of Churches.
Beyond that, there are no firm rules that determine what we will support and we are frequently impressed by the imagination and scope of the projects that seek ATL grants.
Most of our grants are between £1,000 and £5,000 but we do make larger grants. Examples of recent grants are on the recent grants page and the news page. Our annual reports and annual reviews also include information about projects we have supported; browse through them here.
For more information about what we support, please read our grant giving policy.
We do not have deadlines for receiving applications; we deal with them as they come in. We encourage potential applicants to talk to us before making an application to find out, before spending time on it, whether it meets our charitable aims. We always aim to be helpful; there is nothing worse for applicants that to spend a long time making an application only to find the project doesn’t meet our criteria. Please look at our grant giving policy and our tips for making an application and feel free to pick up the phone and talk to us or, if you prefer, email us. We want to help you make a successful application.
Every application is received by our grants administrator who checks that it complies and is complete. It is then reviewed for consideration by the trustees. On average, it takes between three and six months for an application to be processed, considered by the trustees and for the decision to be communicated to you. We receive a large number of applications and take great care in reviewing each one individually.
To make your application stand out from the crowd, follow our tips and advice.
